Types of Friendship

The three types of friendship involves those of mutual benefit, between parents and children, and political. These three can be seen in diverse aspects of society to such an extent that it leads them to advance the interests of all individuals involved. Friendships of mutual benefits take place in situations where people with similar interests are brought together in order to protect themselves. This is especially the case among those who have achieved considerable prosperity and require friends of a similar status in order to maintain their prosperous lifestyle, but also help them to attain even more. The parent-child friendship is one that comes naturally and involves genuine affection between these individuals. It is a form of friendship that is witnessed not only among human beings, but also among animals in the natural environment. This form of friendship makes the individuals involved in them to do anything for one another because it is governed by love rather than self-interest. Political friendships are those that exist between political entities, such as nations or states and this form of friendship is driven mainly by the desire to secure themselves against their common enemies. In addition, political friendships make states to work together to advance other interests such as commerce and free movement of their citizens.
